Landscapes
Before this class if I was taking photos of landscapes I would normally take one or two photos and be done. Since the start of this class I am now taking several photos just to pick out one that looks really good. Now I am thinking about lighting, the rule of thirds, and to use the different setting that my camera has. I also thinking about what I want to photo and how I want it to look instead of just taking a photo and hoping for the best.

ASSIGNMENT 1
COMPOSTION
This is a website I found on composition. As the Rhonda Callow stated “composition” simply refers to the act of putting together certain pieces or elements to form the “big picture”. http://www.brighthub.com/multimedia/photography/articles/951.aspx#ixzz11cDMZ1E8
I found this website interesting as it discussed some of the things that we are learning about this week such as the rule of thirds, framing plus other topics that will help in taking a decent photo. I have usually tried to center my subject in my photos. I have recently taken some photos using the rule of thirds without consciously knowing. It should be fun taking photos this week.
AESTHETICS
What is aesthetics? This is hard to define as one person idea may be completely different then the next person. Here is an article written by Austin Cline on aesthetics. atheism.about.com/od/philosophybranches/p/Aesthetics.htm

This is the flag in front of the Hartford Public Safety Building.
The first picture was taken at night. I do not have a external flash
for my camera so was not able to get any pictures with just the internal flash.
With the aid of a flashlight I was able to get this picture.
The second picture is with the sun just starting to come over the trees. The sun is behind and
to the right of the flag.
The last picture was taken about five hours later just after lunchtime.
